HKC Construction is seeking a collaborative and insightful Senior Estimator to join our Estimator department. This role involves providing accurate bids and budgets for tenders and projects, leading estimates, and fostering relationships with trades, suppliers, and clients. Key responsibilities include working with the commercial team to prepare competitive estimates, communicating with stakeholders for repeat business, responding to client inquiries, and understanding tender drawings and specifications. The Senior Estimator will also mentor team members, evaluate subcontractor quotations, maintain professional relationships, and support project managers with detailed project information.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial building construction in the Greater Toronto Area.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and building codes.

  • Experience in estimating with relevant certifications appreciated.

  • Strong project planning, management, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Detail-oriented, with a willingness to travel for site meetings (must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License and vehicle access).

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of Site Supervisor experience on large scale projects, with a necessity for subdivision servicing experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership, a continuous improvement mindset, critical thinking skills, and the ability to understand drawings/specifications.

  • Knowledge of municipal/regional standards in GTA/southern Ontario, with excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.

  • The ability to make quick, safe, and profitable decisions, alongside strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.

  • Self-sufficiency, a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft 365 and PROCORE, and a team-oriented, positive attitude.
