About the role
The Junior Construction Project Coordinator supports our Project Managers and Project Coordinators on active construction projects. You will help keep schedules, drawings and project records up to date, take minutes at project meetings, and track the paperwork that moves between the office, the site, subcontractors and clients. This is an entry-level role for someone who is organized, communicates clearly and wants to build a career in construction project management.
Responsibilities
- Help maintain project schedules, budgets and document logs
- Attend project meetings, take minutes and follow up on action items
- Track RFIs, submittals and shop drawings until each one is closed
- Keep drawings, specifications and project files organized and current
- Prepare reports, letters and presentation materials for Project Managers
- Collect subcontractor paperwork, such as insurance and WSIB certificates
- Help assemble closeout documents, including warranties and manuals
- Provide administrative support and take on other project tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in construction management, civil or architectural technology, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Up to 2 years of experience in construction or project administration (co-op placements and internships count)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
- Able to read construction drawings, or willing to learn
- Organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage several tasks at once and work as part of a team
Nice to have
- Experience with Procore, AutoCAD or similar construction software
- Co-op or work experience with a general contractor or construction manager
